Thanksgiving 2015 As a roofing contractor in South San Francisco, we have plenty to be thankful for. We’re grateful for San Francisco, the Bay Area, and all the towns and neighborhoods on the peninsula that keep our business going and make our lives interesting. We’re all thankful for our friends and families. We’re thankful we do a job that empowers us to take pride in our work at the end of each day. We’re proud to help build better structures and better communities. What we’re most thankful for, though, is you. We’re thankful for all the homeowners and business owners we work with every day. Without you, we wouldn’t have this job we love so much. Thank you. We’d love to hear about your memories. Head on over to our Facebook page and let us know about your favorite Thanksgiving foods, your favorite Thanksgiving memories, and, of course, what you’re thankful for. We’ll read and reply to each one. A few of our team members wrote a little bit about what they’re thankful for, and some shared their favorite foods and Thanksgiving memories, too.

What are you most thankful for in 2015? That this year I'm finally stepping out and living my life on my own. Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? Every year I look forward to our turkey. I don't think there's too much that's special about it that my Mom does. Defrost, fill with stuffing, onions, and apples. Cook for several hours to mouth watering perfection. It just seems to turn out perfectly every year.

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I have so many blessings to be thankful for. I’m thankful for the good health of my family, friends, and colleagues. For healthy relationships among family and friends. For my Dad making it to 93 years last week. For my 31st year of married life this week. For freedom from stressful employment. For Carlos’ coaching me on how to be a professional salesperson-- to finally be productive, and to enjoy doing it. For the staff and production crews' diligence for making it all happen. For the homeowners' faith in me. To America, and to God for being around… Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? My pot roast was always requested and very popular with the nephews and nieces, but my personal favorite was my cousin's crab dish cooked in coconut oil and veggies. There is, of course, the ceremonial turkey (that is just ignored, and eventually ends up in sandwiches). What’s your favorite Thanksgiving activity? A favorite activity we look forward to on Thanksgiving Day is the lottery of anonymous Kris Kringle partners for the Christmas party.

Maria De Leon - Office Administration

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I am thankful to God for giving me life, health, welfare, and because he keeps working on me, helping me to become a better person to myself and others. Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? I love the way my Brothers in-law prepare the Thanksgiving Dinner. Both of them are very good cooks. They have a very good recipe, but they don't want to share it with me!

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I’m thankful for supportive parents. I embarked on a major project that needed their full and complete assistance. Both of my parents were extremely helpful. Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? Corn Souffle! I make it with a cup of melted butter. Yum! What’s your most memorable Thanksgiving moment? One year, I invited a friend of mine to Thanksgiving dinner who doesn’t cook. She offered to bring apple pie and ice cream. When she arrived, she had already eaten half the pie and a quarter of the ice cream! To make up for it, she also brought a box of donuts from Happy Donut. What were we supposed to do with those donuts for Thanksgiving dinner?!?!?

Eloisa Gallardo - Office Manager

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I'm thankful for having good health, my crazy family by my side, and for my daily job routine. I love coming to work every morning and spending eight hours with all of my co-workers, even if I drive them a little crazy at times. lol. Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? I look forward to my aunt's delicious Tamales and Champurrado, but mostly for the quality time I get to spend with all of the family. What’s your most memorable Thanksgiving moment? There's lots of good memorable moments, but the most common one is when the dinner tables change to poker, and all the coins start piling up. Every 10 or 15 minutes I come around, tap the table on the middle, and all the coins go all over and get mixed up. After a few times of me doing this, the family gets upset, get up from their chairs, and start chasing me around the house!

Ricardo Molina - Project Advisor

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I'm thankful for my health. Without it, life would be a challenge... Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? Mom's rice and Lorena's flan! What’s your most memorable Thanksgiving moment? When my brothers invited some girls to the family gathering… the family wasn't too happy, as they were slightly drunk.

Carlos Rodriguez - President & CEO

What are you most thankful for in 2015? I am thankful for good health and abundance. Everything we need is all around us, and we have to be in the moment to appreciate it. I am happy for my health, and happy that I am able to be active and enjoy life! Which Thanksgiving food do you look forward to the most? My mother's cooking is always delectable. She makes traditional Thanksgiving food, but I prefer the non traditional plates like her homemade enchiladas. My wife makes splendid salads, and her Mexican rice rivals my mother's for #1. My daughter's baking sweetens up our evening. What’s your most memorable Thanksgiving moment? The most memorable is the first Thanksgiving at my house. My father expressed his pride and gratitude for the abundance we are living, as a result of our immigrant family's honest and hard work.
